سامَتنِيَ مَن تَحسِدها البَيضاءُ
How far beyond reach is what my passions demand of me!
How far my passions have led me astray
They have demanded of me one whom the sun envies,
I was lured by one envied by the radiant dawn

One beneath whose sash the Pleiades have risen,
One for whose diaphanous scarf the Pleiades arose
One whose girdle Orion longed to fasten.
For whose slender waist the nut-brown partridge yearned
