بِالزقِّ صرعتُهُ لَدى الأَوتارِ
At dawn I exacted my revenge on sorrows;
I awoke to anxieties raging
With the wineskin I laid it low beside the strings.
With wine I laid them low beside the strings

From my wine jar, I see this day of mine
From my cup I see my days as one when
As the day the hosts fled in defeat from Dhi Qar.
The armies were routed at Dhi Qar
