سَلAsk عَنّيَabout me هَلwhether معاقديmy bonds تَنفسخُcome undone
سَل عَنّيَ هَل معاقدي تَنفسخُ
إِذwhen أَصرُخُI cry out فيin اللِقاءbattle منwho يَصطَرخُcries out
إِذ أَصرُخُ في اللِقاء من يَصطَرخُ
Ask about me: do my bonds come undone
Ask about me, do my vows unravel
when I cry out in battle, 'Who cries out?'
When I cry out at the meeting, who cries out
تَنسَلُّslips out عَنfrom الدرعthe armor قَناتيmy spear قَصداًstraight
تَنسَلُّ عَن الدرع قَناتي قَصداً
كالحَيَّةِlike a snake عَنfrom إِهابهاits skin تَنسَلِخُslips free
كالحَيَّةِ عَن إِهابها تَنسَلِخُ
My spear slips straight out of the armor,
My sword slides slowly from its sheath
as a snake slips out of its skin.
Like a snake shedding its skin
