إِن بَذَّ بَيانَ من مضى إِفصاحي

إِن بَذَّ بَيانَ من مضى إِفصاحي

فَهوَ القَدَحُ الأَخير في الأَقداحِ

فَهوَ القَدَحُ الأَخير في الأَقداحِ

If my eloquence surpasses the expression of those who came before,

then it is the last goblet among goblets.

بي يَختُمُ أَنجمَ المَعاني صُبحي

بي يَختُمُ أَنجمَ المَعاني صُبحي

لا كَوكَبَ بَعدَ كَوكَب الإِصباحِ

لا كَوكَبَ بَعدَ كَوكَب الإِصباحِ

Through me, my dawn brings the stars of meaning to an end;

there is no star after the star of daybreak.
