ياO صاحِfriend تَجَشَّمtake the trouble لأَداءِto fulfill الفَرضِthe duty
يا صاحِ تَجَشَّم لأَداءِ الفَرضِ
بَلِّغهconvey to him تَحيَّتيmy greeting وَلثمand the kissing of الأَرضِthe ground
بَلِّغه تَحيَّتي وَلثم الأَرضِ
O friend, take on the burden of fulfilling this duty:
O friend, take the trouble to fulfill the duty.
Convey to him my greeting—and my kiss upon the ground.

ثُمَّthen اِروِrecount بطولهin its full length حَديثيmy tale وَأَعِدand repeat

لا بُدَّ لِقصّة الهَوى من عَرضِ
