يَغشاه وَلا الرِقادُ في الأَجفانِ
A languid breeze whispered to the garden’s blossoms.
The breeze whispered to the garden's flower
It envelops them, yet no sleep rests in the eyelids.
Enveloping it, though slumber filled no eyes

No fair woman has forgotten the man who took her maidenhood.
Abu Udhra's songstress did not forget him
Alas for me! Why does my beloved forget me?
Oh woe is me! Why did my darling forget me?
