من فيه فَثنَّيتُ لِكَي أُتبِعَها
A kiss displeased me: it had missed its proper place
A kiss distressed me, passing its proper place;
On his mouth; so I gave a second to follow it up.
I bent my course to follow its track again.

He opened his mouth wide to curse, so I congratulated my mouth
My mouth had been greedy, missing his mouth, I found;
That his kiss had landed where it belonged.
My kiss alighted where it belonged to alight.
