عَنfrom مَضجعهhis bed قامَhe rose إِلىto النَدمانِthe drinking companion
عَن مَضجعه قامَ إِلى النَدمانِ
وَالصُبحُand dawn بريدُmessenger ضَوئِهِhis light وافانيcame to me
وَالصُبحُ بريدُ ضَوئِهِ وافاني
From his bed he rose to join the drinking companion.
From his bed he rose to regret
And dawn, the messenger of his light, came to me.
And the dawn with its light enveloped me
فارتدَّso it turned سَناهits radiance كاذِباًfalse فيin نَظَريmy sight
فارتدَّ سَناه كاذِباً في نَظَري
إِذwhen أَشرَقَshone لِلعُيونto the eyes صُبحٌa dawn ثانِsecond
إِذ أَشرَقَ لِلعُيون صُبحٌ ثانِ
So its radiance turned false in my sight,
So his brilliance seemed deceitful to my eyes
When a second dawn shone before the eyes.
As a second dawn shone for all to see
