O you who burn yourself for the multitude’s benefit,
O you who sacrifice yourself for the good of all
You clung to fire to gain radiance.

Do not twist a tongue that blazes with fire;
Do not blame a tongue that utters scorching words
The candle’s tongue has already destroyed itself.
The wick has destroyed itself through its flaming tongue
