لِلوَردِ تَقول حالَةَ اِستئناسِ
How wondrous the little breeze that wafted among the myrtle,
The breeze that blows with the gentleness
Saying to the rose in friendly intimacy:
Of roses professing delight
إِنif طابbecomes pleasant لكfor you الوَقتُthe time فللّرقةِthen owing to the tenderness ليthat is mine
إِن طاب لك الوَقتُ فللّرقةِ لي

إِن دام لك البَسطُ فمن أَنفاسي
"If your time is sweet, it is thanks to my tenderness;
If your time is pleasant, 'tis from my softness
If your delight endures, it comes from my breaths."
If your life spreads in ease, 'tis from my breath
