إِن فاحَ رَوائِحَ الغَوالي نَسَخا
In fragrance, I see your tresses as an original firmly rooted.
In your fragrance I see your branch a rooted origin
If their fragrance wafts, it eclipses the scents of precious perfumes.
When the aromas of spring blossoms waft gently by

لا غَروَ سَقيمَةً وَجَدتُ النُسَخا
I compared the garden’s breezes with them; the breezes faltered.
I meet with it the meadow’s breeze lightly blowing
No wonder—I found the copies unsound.
No wonder I found the copy pale and sickly
