يا أكرم الخلق يا من ما دعاه فتى

يا أكرم الخلق يا من ما دعاه فتى

إلا وقبل الندا في سؤلهِ ظفرا

إلا وقبل الندا في سؤلهِ ظفرا

O most generous of creation, O you whom no young man ever called upon

O most generous of creation, whom no youth

But had his request fulfilled before his call.

Has ever called upon except that you accepted his request as gain,

مددت كف الرجا أمناً لساحلهِ

مددت كف الرجا أمناً لساحلهِ

وبحر حلمك طامٍ قط ما جزرا

وبحر حلمك طامٍ قط ما جزرا

I stretched out the palm of hope, confident, toward its shore,

You extended the palm of hope as a safe harbor,

And the sea of your forbearance overflows; it has never ebbed.

And your sea of forbearance has never ebbed.

لديك مولاي ماءُ الوجه منسكبٌ

لديك مولاي ماءُ الوجه منسكبٌ

وطالما عن سواكم بات منحسرا

وطالما عن سواكم بات منحسرا

Before you, my lord, the water of my honor is poured out,

My Master, your spring of bounty overflows,

And often it has remained withdrawn from those besides you.

While those besides you are left high and dry.

ألقيت عند علا الأبواب مسألتي

ألقيت عند علا الأبواب مسألتي

فانظر بلطفٍ لها يا خير من نظرا

فانظر بلطفٍ لها يا خير من نظرا

I laid my petition at the loftiest gates;

I have cast my plea at the highest of thresholds,

So look kindly upon it, O best of those who have looked.

So look upon it with kindness, O best of beholders.
