وكم من نورك الكون استضاءَ
O Midhat, you are truly the sun of justice!
And how greatly the universe was illumined by your light!
لذلكfor that reason رائفRaif شمناهwe beheld him بدراًas a full moon
لذلك رائف شمناه بدراً
زهاhe was radiant وبأفقand on the horizon of بيروتٍBeirut أضاءَhe shone
زها وبأفق بيروتٍ أضاءَ
Thus we beheld Raif as a full moon,
Radiant and shining on Beirut’s horizon.
