هذا سبيلُ اللَه همَّ بهِ الهما
مُcompletes 'the magnanimous' عليُّAli محييreviver of الدينِthe faith رِيّاًquenching thirst للصَدِيfor the thirsty
مُ عليُّ محيي الدينِ رِيّاً للصَدِي
This is God's fountain, undertaken by the magnanimous—
This is the path of God, so be resolute in purpose

An endowment of Emir Mulhim, eminent in generosity,
The outstanding prince stopped to give generously
That Shihab, son of the peerless Shihab.
That meteor, son of the unique meteor
وِردٌa watering place صَفاbecame pure وَصفاًin quality فياso, O مستورداًseeker of water
وِردٌ صَفا وَصفاً فيا مستورداً
أرّخrecord the date سبيلاًa drinking fountain جاءَhas come عَذبَsweet الموردِthe water-source
أرّخ سبيلاً جاءَ عَذبَ الموردِ
A watering place, pure in quality—so, O seeker of water,
Pure spring, describe it to those asking
Record the date of a fountain that has come, sweet at its source.
