The Jews hope that the Messiah will come, yet he has
The Jews long for the Messiah to come and he
Come, and his signs have shone forth clearly.
Came, his proofs shone clearly

When the scepter of kingdom was snatched from them
And its reins did not return to them again.
And their thrones were no more

The weeks of Daniel the prophet passed
Anyone to deny his word, when truth bears witness to it?
Is there one who denies his words while the truth bears witness?

Destruction ravaged the house of God, and down fell
Ruin wrecked the House of God, its firm bastions collapsed
Its impregnable fortresses, and its structures were crushed.
And its pillars crumbled

Titus the king spread his wings over them
Arms stretched over them by the Lord's decree.
By the decree of the Master, his arms prevailed

I repeated what preceded it, this I shall not repeat.'
If I restore what was before, I will not repeat it

After this, they had no more burnt offerings for Him

Their offering vanished from the world, and perished
Aaron's priesthood, and its necklaces came undone.
Was Aaron’s priesthood, its necklaces untied

And swept it away when His purpose was complete

It is the law of Moses, whose plantings dried up,
It was the law of Moses, its branches withered
And its harbor collapsed, and its foundations crumbled.
Its springs dried up and its foundations collapsed

They became sects, each seen as a sect
Seeking himself a tunnel out of what he endures.
Seeking a path through what it endures

Ugly of face, with not one handsome young man among them;
Disfigured faces, no handsome youth remains
How could there be beauty when God's wrath quenches it?
Where is beauty, when God's curse lies dormant?

Awaken! Your glory days have passed
Its radiant days, and its doctrines have unraveled.
Gone is your pride, your creeds dissolved

Have you any haven left or support?
When the supports of your covenant's law lie desolate?
Your law’s might has crumbled, its pillars fallen

Why don’t their laments address you?

Enough disgrace for you wandering in darkness
Along this road whose wayfarer has gone astray.
On this path where the traveler strays

This is the daybreak of guidance shining clear
So walk by it, if night's twin pole stars lead you astray.
Walk, lest night falls and slumber takes you

O people of Moses, of whom only remains
The trembling of its hand, when its noble men departed.
The thunder of his hand, when his glories receded

You worshipped the calf until your wisest said

“This is your god whose worship leads not astray”

You sought other than Him, the worst pursued
Though he is the Merciful One, whose seeker never fails.
While He is the Merciful, whose seeker never fails

Likewise, the rock's springs quenched your thirst.
Thus the rock gushed for you, its springs overflowed

You lifted Him on wood, so His enemies rejoiced
His enemies, while his envier sated his spite on him.
And His enviers tasted pleasure in Him
