ياO سيّداًmaster حازَattained الذكاءَintelligence فلمso did not يَزَلcease
يا سيّداً حازَ الذكاءَ فلم يَزَل
يجريruns بَميدانِin the arena of الحِجَىreason ويَجُولُand roams
يجري بَميدانِ الحِجَى ويَجُولُ
O master who attained brilliance and has never ceased
O master of intelligence unceasing
to run in the arena of reason and roam.
Roaming the arena of wisdom to and fro
هاكَhere you are المعمَّىthe riddle ماthat which يُماثلُmatches قولناour saying
هاكَ المعمَّى ما يُماثلُ قولنا
تَرَكَleft الهَوَىpassion عنهُaway from itself الثَرَىthe earth المجبولُmolded
تَرَكَ الهَوَى عنهُ الثَرَى المجبولُ
