No, no—do not reproach a man for what he has done.
Do not reproach a man for what he did
For you may face a punishment he did not face.
For you may receive revenge for what you have not suffered
هلdo ...? تَعلَمَنَّyou truly know بماof what يجيءُcomes بهِwith it غدٌtomorrow
فبِعلمِfor in the knowledge of ربّكَyour Lord ماwhat استمرَّhas endured وماand what بَقِيremains
Do you truly know what tomorrow will bring?
Do you know what tomorrow will bring?
For your Lord knows what has endured and what remains.
By the knowledge of your Lord, nothing lasts or remains
وإذاand if رأَيتَyou see سِواكَsomeone other than you جاءَhe came بهَفوةٍwith a slip
فلَكَمfor many a time أَتيتَyou have committed بعِظمِwith the enormity of ذَنبٍa sin مُوبِقِruinous
And if you see someone else who has made a slip,
And when you see another's misstep
For many a time you have committed a grave, ruinous sin.
How many grave sins have you yourself committed?

وارقُبand watch عُيوبكyour faults بالعُيُونِwith the eyes الحُدَّقِgazing intently
So look upon others with the glance of a downcast eye,
So look at others with downcast eyes
And watch your own faults with eyes that gaze intently.
And watch your own flaws with vigilant eyes
