Never scorn one of lowly standing, showing contempt
Do not despise the lowly man of humble station,
for him; for whoever demeans people's standing never becomes a leader.
Though he is despised, he shares the lot of all.

Many are the pawns by which the king has been defeated.
How many a despised plant is crowned with blossoms,
Indeed, the mosquito makes the lion's eye bleed.
Though the mosquito can sting the lion's eyeball.
