ضُعفُ الطبيعةِ مقرونٌ بِفطرتها

ضُعفُ الطبيعةِ مقرونٌ بِفطرتها

ينمو بذي الجهل من حالٍ إلى حال

ينمو بذي الجهل من حالٍ إلى حال

Nature's weakness is bound up with its innate disposition;

The weakness of nature comes with how it's made

it grows in the ignorant from one state to the next.

Ignorance grows from state to state

فان يَكُن نَزعُهُ فوقَ استِطاعتنا

فان يَكُن نَزعُهُ فوقَ استِطاعتنا

فلا نربّيهِ في قولٍ وأفعالِ

فلا نربّيهِ في قولٍ وأفعالِ

So if its removal is beyond our ability,

If correcting it goes beyond our scope

then let us not nurture it in speech and deeds.

Then with words and deeds we cannot hope
