If a person’s deed among people is sound,
If a man's conduct among people is sound,
It comes forth sound in every turn it takes.
he comes through unharmed in all his dealings.

But if it is defective, there comes its counterpart:
And if it is unsound, there come, like it,
The turnings of a deed from which there is no escape.
forms of action from which he has no escape.

A wāw is dropped from an assimilated verb in the imperfect tense,
And a wāw is omitted from an initial-weak verb in the imperfect tense,
But in the past tense of one’s deed, it is never dropped.
but in that verb's past tense it is not omitted.
