إذا أَخطى أَمرؤٌ بالكِبرِ يُخطِي

إذا أَخطى أَمرؤٌ بالكِبرِ يُخطِي

كما مَلَكٍ وارواحٍ فهيمَه

كما مَلَكٍ وارواحٍ فهيمَه

If a man sins through pride, he sins

If a person errs through pride, he errs

Like an angel and intelligent spirits;

Like angels and spirits in their conceit.

ويُخطِي مثل إِنسانٍ ببُخلٍ

ويُخطِي مثل إِنسانٍ ببُخلٍ

واما بالزِنا فكما البهيمَه

واما بالزِنا فكما البهيمَه

And through miserliness he sins like a human,

And he errs like a miserly man through stinginess,

But through fornication, like a beast.

While through lewdness, he is like a beast.
