يا من لأَشتات الفضائل جامعٌ

ما العقلُ عن نَهج المحبَّة جامحُ

O you who brings together all virtues

Reason cannot grasp the path of love

أبداً يَحنُّ اليك قلبٌ صادعٌ

ما أَنَّ في الأسحار طيرٌ صادحُ

A heart calls out to you incessantly

As if at dawn there is a screaming bird

ما لاحَ للأَبصار برقٌ لامعٌ

إلَّا وخِلتُ بان طيفك لامحُ

No shining light appears to sights

Unless I imagine your hovering image

ظُفري لسِنِّي بعدَ بُعدِكَ قارعٌ

والقلبُ من كيّ التناءِي قارحُ

My elder years gained glory after your absence

While my heart is torn by yearning

عَدَمَ السُكونِ هواكمُ بي شارعٌ

والدمعُ عن حال المحبَّةِ شارحُ

Your love made tranquility impossible

And tears explain the state of passion

زَمَنٌ لقربك والتلاقي مانعٌ

لكن لثوبِ السُقم جِسمي مانحُ

Time prevents us from meeting

Yet my body grants the garb of illness

يا صاحِ ما أنا عن وِدادِكَ راجعٌ

يا مَن لهُ في القلب حُبٌّ راجحُ

O companion, I do not recoil from affection for you

O you who has overpowering love in the heart

ها إن كُلِّي في رِضاك مسامعٌ

قُل ما تشاهُ فالحبيبُ مسامحُ

Say what you wish, the beloved is forgiving

Through your generosity, I have endless hopes

إني بفضل نَداكَ فيَّ مطامعٌ

إذ لم يكن لسِواكَ فيَّ مطامحُ

As I have no ambitions except you
