لا تبغِ ما لا ينبغي لك فعلُهُ

واجزِ المُسِيءَ بأَجزَلِ الإِحسانِ

Do not seek what you ought not to do.

Do not seek what is not proper for you to do

And repay the wrongdoer with the most generous kindness.

And repay the wrongdoer with the utmost benevolence

إن الطريقَ الى الخلاصِ عسيرةٌ

إن الطريقَ الى الخلاصِ عسيرةٌ

ويَكِلُّ عن إِيضاحِ ذاكَ لِساني

ويَكِلُّ عن إِيضاحِ ذاكَ لِساني

Indeed, the path to salvation is arduous.

Indeed the path to salvation is difficult

And my tongue falls short of making that clear.

And my tongue fails to elucidate that

لا تَعجَبَنَّ لانَّ ذلك ضِدُّ ما

لا تَعجَبَنَّ لانَّ ذلك ضِدُّ ما

بُنَيت عليهِ طبيعةُ الإِنسانِ

بُنَيت عليهِ طبيعةُ الإِنسانِ

Do not be astonished, for that is contrary to what
