فاستدرِك المدحَ وقُل إِنَّهُ

فاستدرِك المدحَ وقُل إِنَّهُ

بحرٌ ولكن ما لَهُ ساحلُ

بحرٌ ولكن ما لَهُ ساحلُ

So amend the praise and say that he is

The absent have no shore

A sea, and yet he has no shore.

Though they be an endless sea
