If you see someone staggering astray, then walk with wavering step,
If you see someone reeling, then lean toward him,
Warily, lest you too be tried by his affliction.
in caution, lest you suffer his affliction.

Do not presume to reckon the measure of his fall—for can you
Do not keep strict account of his fall; for do you
Know the forenoon sun when it unveils its radiance?
know of the forenoon sun when it shines forth?
كمhow many منof دنيٍّa lowly person قدindeed ترفَّعrose قَدرُهُhis standing

How many a lowly man has risen high in worth,
How many a lowly man has risen in standing,
And many a man of lofty worth been cast down from his heights.
and many a man of high standing has been brought down from his heights.

If you know what outwardly appears of his condition,
If you know the outward aspect of his condition,
God knows better the innermost depth of what he hides.
then God knows better what lies in his deepest concealment.

لالهِهِagainst his God منfrom بعدafter حُسنِthe goodness of وَلائهِhis allegiance
Judas the deceiver ended as a thief, casting off
Judas the deceiver became a thief, rejecting
His God, after the beauty of his allegiance.
his God after his faithful devotion.
واللَصُّand the thief حازَwon الصفحَpardon عنfor آثامهِhis sins
وكذاكand likewise بُطرُسُPeter تابَrepented بعدَafter خَطائهِhis error
Yet the thief attained forgiveness for his sins,
And the thief won pardon for his sins,
And Peter likewise repented after his error.
and likewise Peter repented after his error.
انif كنتَyou are بُطرُسَPeter لاdo not تَثِقfeel secure أوor كنتَyou are يوJu- (beginning of Judas)

If you are Peter, do not rest secure; or if you are Ju—
If you are Peter, do not feel secure; or if you are Ju-
das, beware despairing of His bounties.
das, beware of despairing of His blessings.
فسُقوطُfor the fall of بُطرُسَPeter كانَwas فَرطَthe excess of أَمانِهِhis sense of security

For Peter’s fall arose from his excessive confidence,
For Peter's fall came from his excessive sense of security,
And Judas’s ruin from cutting off his hope.
and Judas's ruin came from abandoning his hope.
