لاno بِدعَwonder انif نحنُwe اتحدناwe united عَنوةًby force
لا بِدعَ ان نحنُ اتحدنا عَنوةً
بمَحَبَّةin love of الدنياthis world بغيرِwithout فِراقِparting
بمَحَبَّة الدنيا بغيرِ فِراقِ
It is no wonder if we are forcibly united
We must unite, even by force
In love of this world, without parting.
With the love of this world, without separation
هيshe أُمُّناour mother لاnot عِرسُناour wife والأُمُّand the mother لنwill not
هي أُمُّنا لا عِرسُنا والأُمُّ لن
يَقضِيdecrees عليهاagainst her شَرعُناour religious law بطَلاقِwith divorce
يَقضِي عليها شَرعُنا بطَلاقِ
She is our mother, not our wife, and a mother will not
She is our mother, not our bride, and a mother will not
Be divorced by decree of our law.
