إذا ما أَدبَرَت دُنيايَ عني

إذا ما أَدبَرَت دُنيايَ عني

فما أنا مَن يقولُ لها هَلُمِّي

If my world turns away from me,

If my life turns away from me

then I am not one to say to her, 'Come!'

وإِمَّا أَقبَلَت يا صاحِ نحوي

فحاشا أن اقولَ لها أَتِمِّي
