ربعٌ لقد أَربَى سَنَى وسَناءَ

ربعٌ لقد أَربَى سَنَى وسَناءَ

تزهو محاسنُهُ صَباحَ مَساءَ

تزهو محاسنُهُ صَباحَ مَساءَ

A dwelling that has indeed excelled in radiance and grandeur;

A quarter has grown old, yet still shines bright,

Its beauties shine morning and evening.

Its beauty glows from dawn through darkest night.

دامت بهِ الأَفراحُ ناسخةً بهِ ال

دامت بهِ الأَفراحُ ناسخةً بهِ ال

أَتراحَ ما نَسَخَ الضِيا الأَفياءَ

أَتراحَ ما نَسَخَ الضِيا الأَفياءَ

May joys endure within it, effacing there the

In it joy persists, each sorrow drowned and drowned,

sorrows, as long as light effaces shadows.

All gloom erased, sunlight abounds and abounds.

وثوت بهِ الخيراتُ ضِمنَ فضائلٍ

وثوت بهِ الخيراتُ ضِمنَ فضائلٍ

فضلت بفضلٍ يستزيدُ عَطاءَ

فضلت بفضلٍ يستزيدُ عَطاءَ

And blessings have dwelt there amid virtues

Within its virtues, bounties have taken root,

that excel through a grace seeking ever more bounty.

Excelled in merit, blessings bear more fruit.

وحبا الالهُ بني سَلامةَ نِعمةً

وحبا الالهُ بني سَلامةَ نِعمةً

تُهدِي السَلامةَ عن يدٍ بيضاءَ

تُهدِي السَلامةَ عن يدٍ بيضاءَ

And God bestowed upon the sons of Salama a blessing

God granted House of Salam peace as a gift,

that offers well-being from a white hand.

Through hand so pure, safety itself does lift.

مَغنىً ليُوسُف ياردٍ حَسَنُ الجَما

مَغنىً ليُوسُف ياردٍ حَسَنُ الجَما

لِ فأَرِّخوا لسني المسيح بناءَ

لِ فأَرِّخوا لسني المسيح بناءَ

A dwelling for Yusuf Yared, fair in its

A refuge, Joseph, whose beauty time can’t mar,

beauty; so date its construction by the years of Christ.

His castle’s built, for Christ a guiding star,

حَيٌّ أَضَاءَ بيوسف سني الالى

حَيٌّ أَضَاءَ بيوسف سني الالى

ارختهُ مُذ هِجرةٍ إِحصاءَ

ارختهُ مُذ هِجرةٍ إِحصاءَ

A quarter illumined by Yusuf, sublime in blessings;

Alive, Joseph sheds on Christ’s home holy light,

I dated it by reckoning from the Hijra.

Since hijra dated, glorious in its might.

بيتٌ تَشيَّدَ بالبَهاءِ مؤرَّخاً

بيتٌ تَشيَّدَ بالبَهاءِ مؤرَّخاً

قصرٌ تفرَّدَ بالبِناءِ بَهاءَ

قصرٌ تفرَّدَ بالبِناءِ بَهاءَ

A house raised in splendor, its date recorded:

A home raised up, Bahá its splendor tells,

A palace unique in the splendor of its construction.

A palace peerless, by Him built so well.
