في طيِّ هذا اللَّحْدِ شَهمٌ مِن بني

في طيِّ هذا اللَّحْدِ شَهمٌ مِن بني

فَرَجٍ لهُ اللهُ الكريمُ قد اصطَفَى

فَرَجٍ لهُ اللهُ الكريمُ قد اصطَفَى

Within this grave lies a noble man of the house of

In this tomb lies a member of the Faraj family

Faraj, whom God the Generous has chosen for Himself.

Whom the Generous Lord selected

ولذلكَ التأريخُ يَهتِفُ فوقَهُ

ولذلكَ التأريخُ يَهتِفُ فوقَهُ

وَجَبَ السَّلامُ لقبرِ شمعُونَ الصَّفا

وَجَبَ السَّلامُ لقبرِ شمعُونَ الصَّفا

And therefore the chronogram cries out above him:

And so this date proclaims over it

Peace is due to the grave of Shim‘un al-Safa.
