هذاthis ضريحٌa tomb للشِّهابِfor Shihab أميرِناour emir
هذا ضريحٌ للشِّهابِ أميرِنا
سَلمانَSalman قدalready أمسَىhas come to be يُكلّلُهُcrowns him النَّدَىthe dew
سَلمانَ قد أمسَى يُكلّلُهُ النَّدَى
This is the tomb of Shihab, our emir,
This is the tomb of our prince Shihab
Salman, whom dew now crowns.
Salman who is now crowned with dew
قِفْstand حولَaround رسمِinscription مؤرِّخيهِhis chroniclers مُبادِراًhastening
قِفْ حولَ رسمِ مؤرِّخيهِ مُبادِراً
وقُلِand say السَّلامُpeace علىupon مَنِwhoever اتَّبعَfollowed الهُدَىguidance
وقُلِ السَّلامُ على مَنِ اتَّبعَ الهُدَى
Stand by his chroniclers' inscription without delay,
Stand around the inscription of his historians readily
And say: Peace be upon whoever follows guidance.
And say peace be upon him who followed guidance
