هذا فؤادُ الدَّولةِ السَّامي الذي

هذا فؤادُ الدَّولةِ السَّامي الذي

رُدِفَت مراتبُ مَجدهِ بمراتبِ

This is the state's exalted Fuad, whose

This is the noble heart of the state, which

Ranks of glory have been followed by further ranks.

هُوَ أهلُ ذاكَ وفوقَ ذاكَ إلى مَدَى

هُوَ أهلُ ذاكَ وفوقَ ذاكَ إلى مَدَى

ما ليسَ يستوفيهِ ضربُ الحاسبِ

ما ليسَ يستوفيهِ ضربُ الحاسبِ

He is worthy of that, and beyond that, to an extent

It is worthy of that and above that to the extent

That the reckoner's multiplication cannot encompass.

That the calculator cannot fully comprehend

كالبحرِ يحمِلُ كلَّ ما في الأرض مِن

كالبحرِ يحمِلُ كلَّ ما في الأرض مِن

سُفُنٍ ويفضُلُ منهُ أعظَمُ جانبِ

سُفُنٍ ويفضُلُ منهُ أعظَمُ جانبِ

Like the sea, he carries all the earth's

Like the sea that carries all that is on earth

Ships, yet the greater part of it remains to spare.

Of ships and has a greater remaining side

زادتْ مراتبُهُ ثلاثاً فوقَ ما

زادتْ مراتبُهُ ثلاثاً فوقَ ما

كانت عليهِ وذاكَ عينُ الواجبِ

كانت عليهِ وذاكَ عينُ الواجبِ

His ranks have increased by three beyond what

Its ranks have increased by three over what

They were before—and that is precisely what is due.

It was and that is the essence of obligation

كالشَّمسِ حلَّت مِن ذُرَى تأريخِها

كالشَّمسِ حلَّت مِن ذُرَى تأريخِها

أوجاً فصاحَبَها ثلاثُ كواكبِ

أوجاً فصاحَبَها ثلاثُ كواكبِ

Like the sun, which reached, amid the heights of her history,

Like the sun that descended from the atoms of its history

An apogee, whereupon three stars accompanied her.

At its zenith, accompanied by three planets
