This is the bride of flowers; dew has dotted her

With pearls, so she smiled and called to Ma'bad.

Modesty played upon her cheek, and it turned rosy.

And the gray doves flaunted their neck-rings

When they saw the crown surmounting the hoopoe.

Racing and bellowing like a rampaging camel?

Thirstier, yet testify that it quenches thirst.

Pearls, and whose two palms give gold,

Will you accept me, with sincere affection,

As a slave? For I have already accepted you as master.

I have always relied on you as I speak,

So it is as though I were the predicate, and you the subject.
