ضريحُ سَلْمَانَ مولانا وسيِّدِنا
نَسْلِscion الشَّهابِShihab أميرِprince البَدْوِthe nomads والحَضَرِand the settled folk
نَسْلِ الشَّهابِ أميرِ البَدْوِ والحَضَرِ
The tomb of Salman, our lord and master,
The shrine of Salman our master and lord
Scion of Shihab, prince of nomads and settled folk.
Of the progeny of Shahab, prince of nomads and towns
قضَىdecreed لهُfor him اللهُGod تأريخاًa date expressed as a chronogram أدامَHe perpetuated بهِthrough it
قضَى لهُ اللهُ تأريخاً أدامَ بهِ
فواتِحَopening verses الحَمْدِpraise والأورادِand the litanies فيat السَّحرِthe time before dawn
فواتِحَ الحَمْدِ والأورادِ في السَّحرِ
God decreed for him a chronogram, through which He perpetuated
For him has God ordained a date to be recited
the opening verses of praise and the litanies before dawn.
At dawn with praises and litanies forevermore
