The sons of Ubayd established a school today,

Guiding to knowledge, literature, and sound judgment.

A radiant beacon on the outskirts of Egypt,

Bringing back what has passed from ages long ago.

It stood, gesturing toward the students and calling out:

“Glad tidings to you at the mother’s embrace of the child!”

And above a doorway, when its date was recorded, an inscription was placed:

I marked the date: “A memorial is engraved for eternity.”
