Rizq Allah has a house with his brother,
A house of God's provision with his brother
the namesake of al-Khidr, of the Tuwayni family.
Of good name Al-Khadhr of Al-Tuwayni's family
قدindeed ازدانَتْbecame adorned بهاthrough it بيروتُBeirut حُسناًwith beauty
قد ازدانَتْ بها بيروتُ حُسناً
فكانتand so it became نُزهةًa delight فيin كلِّevery عينِeye
فكانت نُزهةً في كلِّ عينِ
Through it, Beirut has been adorned with beauty,
Beirut has been adorned with beauty through it
and so became a delight to every eye.
And became a delight in every eye
تقولُit says مُشيرةًhinting لمؤرِّخيهاto those who date it
تقولُ مُشيرةً لمؤرِّخيها
أناI فيon الأرضِthe earth بُرجُthe tower of الفَرقَدينِthe two Farqad stars
أنا في الأرضِ بُرجُ الفَرقَدينِ
