تخلَّقَ الناسُ بالأدناسِ واعتمدوا

تخلَّقَ الناسُ بالأدناسِ واعتمدوا

من الصفاتِ الدَّها والمكرَ والحَسَدا

من الصفاتِ الدَّها والمكرَ والحَسَدا

People have taken on vile ways and adopted

People are marked with moral filth and they relied

From among traits, cunning, deceit, and envy.

Upon the qualities of deceit, scheming, and envy

كرهتُ منظرَهم من سوءِ مخبرِهم

كرهتُ منظرَهم من سوءِ مخبرِهم

وقد تعاميتُ حتى لا أرى أحدا

وقد تعاميتُ حتى لا أرى أحدا

I loathed the sight of them because of their wicked inner nature.

I disliked their appearance because of their evil character

And I have feigned blindness so as to see no one.

So I isolated myself in order not to see anyone
