أوصَىmade a bequest بهاfor it مِنfrom among بَنِيdescendants of العَبْسيِّal-ʿAbsi منتقلٌdeparting
أوصَى بها مِن بَنِي العَبْسيِّ منتقلٌ
مِنsince عهدِthe time of عامٍa year إلىto أبراجِthe towers of أفلاكِcelestial spheres
مِن عهدِ عامٍ إلى أبراجِ أفلاكِ
One of al-ʿAbsi's descendants left a bequest for it, departing
A departed one from Bani Al Abbasi bequeathed it
A year ago to the towers of the celestial spheres.
From an era of prosperity to celestial spheres
مِنfrom مالهِhis wealth بُنيَتْit was built فاعتاضَso he received in exchange مَنزِلةًa dwelling
مِن مالهِ بُنيَتْ فاعتاضَ مَنزِلةً
فيin الأوجِthe zenith فائقةًsurpassing عنbeyond طَوْرِthe bounds of إدراكِunderstanding
في الأوجِ فائقةً عن طَوْرِ إدراكِ
It was built from his wealth, and he gained in return a dwelling
It was built from his wealth, excelling in glory
At the zenith, surpassing the bounds of understanding.
Above the zenith, beyond the grasp of intellect
كقُبَّةِlike the tabernacle of العهدِthe Covenant ذاتِpossessing القُدسِholiness قدindeed رُفعتْit was raised
كقُبَّةِ العهدِ ذاتِ القُدسِ قد رُفعتْ
نحوَtoward الأعاليthe heights علىupon أعضادِthe upper arms of أملاكِangels
نحوَ الأعالي على أعضادِ أملاكِ
Like the holy Tabernacle of the Covenant, it has been raised
Like the dome of the covenant, sacred in rank
Toward the heights, upon the arms of angels.
Raised to the heavens on pillars of angels
دَعَتْit called إلىfor نظمِthe versifying of تأريخٍa chronogram فقُلتُso I said بهِin it
دَعَتْ إلى نظمِ تأريخٍ فقُلتُ بهِ
ياO قبَّةَTabernacle of العهدِthe Covenant إبراهيمُIbrahim أنشاكِhe built you
يا قبَّةَ العهدِ إبراهيمُ أنشاكِ
It called for a chronogram in verse, and in it I said:
It inspired a chronogram, so I told it:
O Tabernacle of the Covenant, Ibrahim built you.
O dome of the covenant, Ibrahim built you
