In my lord Abd al-Qadir's house were arrayed
In the house of my master Abdel Qadir,
the bright stars; so we said, "Here is a celestial sphere."
The flowers of stars have blossomed, so we said: here is the sky's realm.

Stars around a sun, drawing from it
Planets around a sun which gains from it

Cubs of a powerful lion of great stature,
Cubs of a mighty lion, great in status,
who surpassed the noble, and whom none could overtake.
Who surpassed the generous so that none could catch up to him.

Gets it right says: by my life, he is a king.
