دَعِleave aside الحُزنَsorrow فيin الدُّنياthe world وبَشِّرْand give glad tidings to عِبادَهاits people
دَعِ الحُزنَ في الدُّنيا وبَشِّرْ عِبادَها
فعبدُfor Abd (servant of) العزيزِal-Aziz (the Mighty) اليومَtoday فكَّlifted حِدادَهاits mourning
فعبدُ العزيزِ اليومَ فكَّ حِدادَها
Lay aside sorrow in this world, and give its people glad tidings;
For Abd al-Aziz today has lifted its mourning.
قَدِindeed اختارَهُhas chosen him اللهُGod الذيwho هوhe عَبدُهُHis servant
قَدِ اختارَهُ اللهُ الذي هو عَبدُهُ
خَليفَتهُHis caliph عنout of حِكمةٍwisdom قدindeed أرادَهاHe intended it
خَليفَتهُ عن حِكمةٍ قد أرادَها
God, whose servant he is, has chosen him
As His caliph, for a wise purpose He intended.
فقامَso he rose بأمرِby the command of اللهِGod فيupon عَرشِthe throne of دَولةٍa realm
فقامَ بأمرِ اللهِ في عَرشِ دَولةٍ
أعَزَّhe strengthened مبانيهاits edifices وأعلىand raised high عِمادَهاits pillar
أعَزَّ مبانيها وأعلى عِمادَها
So, at God's command, he rose upon a realm's throne;
He strengthened its edifices and raised its pillar high.
وألقَىand he cast لدىat تارِيخهِhis chronogram عينَthe essence of جُودِهِhis bounty
وألقَى لدى تارِيخهِ عينَ جُودِهِ
فَقَرَّرَand so he firmly established فيin صَدرِthe breast of البِلادِthe land فؤَادَهاits heart
فَقَرَّرَ في صَدرِ البِلادِ فؤَادَها
And into his chronogram he cast the essence of his bounty,
And so established the land's heart within its breast.
