    A marvel we behold—so glorify the One who wrought it!

    The two moons have shone forth together at one time.

    Two moons have risen from the west, which

    Had been known as a place of setting, not of rising.

    So the happy East rejoiced, offering greetings,

    And the distant West grew lonely, bidding farewell.

    فلَوِ اُستطاعَ إلى لِقائهما سَعَى

    Joy overwhelmed the sorrowing dwelling;

    So, had it been able, it would have hastened to meet them both.

    He keeps crying out with glad tidings and joy—

    He who once cried out in complaint and prayer.

    ضُربَتْ بشائِرُهُ فأبهَجَ مَسمَعا

    A fair-faced delegation delighted the eye;

    Its glad tidings were sounded, delighting the ear.

    O dwelling, cast off the robe of grief,

    For today Time has wiped away the tears.

    And may the one who once brought loved ones together

    Never again sunder what he has joined.
