هذا كريمٌ باسِمِ أحمدَ قد أتى

فَجلا على الأبصارِ صُورَةَ يوسفِ

This noble man named Ahmad has come,

and revealed to the eyes the likeness of Yusuf.

نَبَتَ العَذارُ بوَجنتيهِ مُؤرّخاً

Down has sprouted on his cheeks, marking a date,

resembling black writing on the white pages of the Qur’an.
