لكمfor you ياO بَنِيsons of الخورِيal-Khuri عَزاءٌconsolation وسَلْوةٌand solace
لكم يا بَنِي الخورِي عَزاءٌ وسَلْوةٌ
بماbecause أنَّthat عبدَservant of اللهِGod قدalready باتَlodged عِندَهُwith Him
بما أنَّ عبدَ اللهِ قد باتَ عِندَهُ
For you, O sons of al-Khuri, there is consolation and solace,
For the noble sons of al-Khouri there is solace
for Abdullah has now come to dwell with Him.
Now that Abdallah has come to rest with Him
لقدindeed جَرَحَwounded الأكبادَthe livers (hearts) عندَat فراقهِhis departure
لقد جَرَحَ الأكبادَ عندَ فراقهِ
وليسَand there is no لهاfor them طِبٌّremedy سوىexcept الصبرpatience بعدَهُafter him
وليسَ لها طِبٌّ سوى الصبر بعدَهُ
He indeed wounded the livers at his departure,
His parting has wounded all our hearts
and they have no remedy but patience after him.
And nought can heal them but patience here below
كريمٌa noble man ثوَىrested فيin مضجَعٍa resting place ذيendowed with كرامةٍhonor
كريمٌ ثوَى في مضجَعٍ ذي كرامةٍ
سَقىmay water اللهُGod مِنfrom أَعلىthe highest السماواتِthe heavens لحدَهُhis grave
سَقى اللهُ مِن أَعلى السماواتِ لحدَهُ
A noble man rests in an honored resting place;
A noble man now rests in a noble tomb
may God water his grave from the highest heavens.
May God rain down fresh water on his grave from highest heaven
قدِindeed اختارَهُHe chose him للفوزِfor salvation أرّخْrecord the date بملكهِin His kingdom
قدِ اختارَهُ للفوزِ أرّخْ بملكهِ
ولاand no شَكَّdoubt أنَّthat اللهَGod يَختارُchooses عبدهُHis servant
ولا شَكَّ أنَّ اللهَ يَختارُ عبدهُ
He has chosen him for salvation in His kingdom—record the date:
God chose him for salvation, welcomed him to His kingdom
and there is no doubt that God chooses His servant.
No doubt that God chooses His righteous servant
