A prince who has enraptured excellence with what lies within him
A prince who values merit for its own sake,
Of excellence—a nobleman whose name among the people is al-Fadl.
Whose very name is Virtue in the highest place,

His are the pearls of my verse, which have dazzled my poetic gift—
To him I offer rarest verse that my genius could create,
Radiant, like necklaces strung around necks.
Adorning rhymed necklaces with finest pearls ornate.
