ليُوسفُ نصرَ قد وافَى غُلامٌ

ليُوسفُ نصرَ قد وافَى غُلامٌ

فقالَ النَّاسُ رَبِّي زِدْ وبارِكْ

فقالَ النَّاسُ رَبِّي زِدْ وبارِكْ

A boy has indeed come to Yusuf Nasr.

A boy achieved Joseph's triumph,

So the people said, “My Lord, grant increase and bless!”

So people said: My Lord, increase and bless!

وراموا نظمَ تأريخٍ فقالوا

وراموا نظمَ تأريخٍ فقالوا

بميخائيلَ تبتَهِجُ المَلائكْ

بميخائيلَ تبتَهِجُ المَلائكْ

And they sought to compose a chronogram, so they said:

And they composed a chronogram, saying:

“In Mikhail the angels rejoice.”

The angels rejoice for Michael.
