أراك اللَه في الأتراك حكما
كحكمlike a judgment فيupon قريظةQurayza والنضيرand al-Nadir
كحكم في قريظة والنضير
God has shown you a judgment upon the Turks,
like the judgment upon Qurayza and al-Nadir:
قضاءa decree منfrom قتيبةQutayba غيرwithout جورinjustice
قضاء من قتيبة غير جور
بهthrough it يشفىis healed الغليلburning rancor منfrom الصدورthe hearts
به يشفى الغليل من الصدور
a decree from Qutayba, free of injustice,
through which hearts are healed of burning rancor.
فإنand if يرshould experience نيزكNizak خزياdisgrace وذلاand humiliation
فإن ير نيزك خزيا وذلا
فكمthen how many فيin الحربwar حمقhas been made a fool of منof أميرa commander
فكم في الحرب حمق من أمير
And if Nizak should suffer disgrace and humiliation,
many a commander has been made a fool of in war.
