حِباءُa gift شَقيقٍShaqiq فَوقَupon أَحجارِthe stones of قَبرِهِhis grave
حِباءُ شَقيقٍ فَوقَ أَحجارِ قَبرِهِ
وَماand not كانَwas يُحبىgiven a gift قَبلَهُbefore him قَبرُthe grave of وافِدِan envoy
وَما كانَ يُحبى قَبلَهُ قَبرُ وافِدِ
The gift to Shaqiq lies upon the stones of his grave;
The love of a brother above the stones of his grave
and before him, no envoy’s grave had ever been given a gift.
No grave before his was adorned with affection like this
