خَيلٌ صِيامٌ وَخَيلٌ غَيرُ صائِمَةٍ
تَحتَbeneath العَجاجِthe dust-cloud وَأُخرىand others تَعلُكُchew اللُجُماthe bits
تَحتَ العَجاجِ وَأُخرى تَعلُكُ اللُجُما
Some horses stand still, and others do not,
Some horses are fasting, some are not,
Beneath the dust-cloud, while others chew their bits.
Beneath the saddlebags, while others chew the dates.
