When Sayf al-Dawla falls ill, the earth falls ill,

and those upon it, and valor, and pure generosity.

And how can I benefit from sleep, when it is

his illness that makes even the closing of the eyes fall ill?

May He who heals His creatures through your generosity heal you,

for you are a sea of which every sea is but a part.
