وَوَلِيُّ النَماءِ مَن تَنميهِ
The stronger of the two sides is whichever you are in.
Most of the space you once occupied
The conquering realm is that wherein you dwell,
And growth belongs to whomever you nurture.
And patron of growth is he whom you nurture
And the master of rising fortune is he whom you raise,

This is he whose grandfather and father you are,
He whose grandsire and father you are
He is the one to whom you are both grandsire and sire,
Closer kin than his own grandfather and father.
Is lowlier than his grandsire and father
In a closeness surpassing his own grandsire and sire.
