ما نَقَلَت في مَشيئةِ قَدَماً

ما نَقَلَت في مَشيئةِ قَدَماً

وَلا اِشتَكَت مِن دُوارِها أَلَما

وَلا اِشتَكَت مِن دُوارِها أَلَما

She did not move a foot of her own will,

She moved no foot of her own volition,

nor did she complain of pain from her dizziness.

Nor complained of pain from her dizzying spin,

لَم أَرَ شَخصاً مِن قَبلِ رُؤيَتِها

لَم أَرَ شَخصاً مِن قَبلِ رُؤيَتِها

يَفعَلُ أَفعالَها وَما عَزَما

يَفعَلُ أَفعالَها وَما عَزَما

Before seeing her, I had never seen anyone

I never saw a figure, before beholding her,

do what she does without intending to.

Who performs her deeds with no intent in mind,

فَلا تَلُمها عَلى تَواقُعِها

فَلا تَلُمها عَلى تَواقُعِها

أَطرَبَها أَن رَأَتكَ مُبتَسِما

أَطرَبَها أَن رَأَتكَ مُبتَسِما

So do not blame her for her repeated falls;

So do not blame her for her tumbling fall;

seeing you smiling filled her with rapture.

She was enraptured to see you smiling.
